Rabbi Corie Yutkin was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She went to Bradley University and completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from DePaul University. Rabbi Corie received her Master of Arts in Hebrew Letters from Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles, Calif. In 2005 Rabbi Corie began working at Temple Bat Yahm in Newport Beach, Calif. as a Rabbinic Assistant where she continued to work as an Assistant Rabbi after receiving her ordination in 2006. After being at Temple Bat Yahm for two years, Rabbi Corie moved to Baton Rouge, La. and became the Rabbi at Congregation B’nai Israel for two years. After that, Rabbi Corie moved back to Los Angeles where she worked at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center as an interfaith chaplain, focusing her work in the liver transplant department of the hospital. Now that Rabbi Corie has two young daughters, she has decided to do freelance work to ensure she has time to be with her family and to continue being a part of people’s lives as a Rabbi. In addition to working as a freelance Rabbi, she is on the Executive Board of Women’s Philanthropy of Jewish Federation & Family Services, Orange County and is on the Hadassah Board.
Rabbi Corie has a lot of experience working as a Rabbi in many different fields. She has officiated numerous weddings, tutored many students in preparation for their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and has delivered invocation speeches at the University and high school level.
Her degree in psychology and her experience at various religious institutions has given her the knowledge to relate to people of different ages and life experiences. Rabbi Corie’s warmth and ability to understand people ensures that any service she performs at a life cycle event will be personable and meaningful.
